- These Terms are intended to set out the conditions under which the Service is provided and the rights and obligations between Users and the Company, and apply to all relationships between Users and the Company relating to the use of the Service.
- Any individual provisions or notices separately established by the Company on the Service form part of these Terms. If these Terms conflict with any individual provision, the individual provision prevails.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- The “Service” means the tools provided by the Company under the name “HANETOOL” (PDF editing, CSV editing, image compression, text/color copy, address label printing, file comparison, QR code creation, clock/timer, character counting/text formatting, digital name stamps (hanko), postal code lookup, password generation, unit conversion, Japanese era/age calculation, screen recording/video editing, file conversion, full-page screenshots, file metadata removal, ID photos, background removal, masking, business card creation, résumé creation, vector conversion, character finder, calculators, noshi/gift envelopes, and others) and any services incidental to them.

- “Output of Deliverables” means any operation that outputs a processing result, such as saving, downloading, compressing, printing, or copying.
Article 3 (Registration)
- Some parts of the Service may be tried without registration; however, continued use requires registering an email address by the method specified by the Company and agreeing to these Terms.
- Upon registration, the Company may verify your identity through the procedure described in a confirmation email.
- The Company may refuse to approve a registration, or may cancel a registration, if it determines that any of the following applies:
- The registration information contains false statements, errors, or omissions
- The applicant has previously had their use suspended for violating these Terms or for similar reasons
- The Company otherwise determines that the registration is inappropriate
Article 4 (Account Management)
- Users shall manage and keep their Account (email address, password, etc.) at their own responsibility, and shall not allow any third party to use it, or lend, transfer, buy, or sell it.
- Users shall be responsible for any damage resulting from inadequate management of their password, use by a third party, or the like, and the Company shall bear no responsibility whatsoever.
Article 5 (Fees and Payment)
- The Service may be used free of charge within the scope of the free plan specified by the Company. The free plan may set a daily limit on the number of Outputs of Deliverables for each tool.

- The fees, plan contents, and usage limits of the Service may be changed at the Company’s discretion.
Article 6 (Prohibited Conduct)
In using the Service, Users shall not engage in any of the following conduct:
- Conduct that violates laws and regulations or public order and morals
- Conduct related to criminal acts

- The Company may suspend or interrupt the provision of all or part of the Service without prior notice to Users in any of the following cases:
- When performing maintenance, inspection, or updates of the system
- When provision becomes difficult due to force majeure, such as an earthquake, fire, power outage, or failure of communication lines
- When the Company otherwise determines that suspension or interruption is necessary
- The Company shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for any damage incurred by Users or third parties as a result of the suspension or interruption of the Service.
Article 8 (Handling of Data and Files)
- As a rule, file processing in the Service is completed entirely within the User’s browser, and files are not saved or stored on the Company’s servers.
- Some features, such as server-side PDF compression, may temporarily send files to the server for processing; however, such files are deleted immediately after processing and are not saved or stored.
- The postal code lookup tool (HANEYubin) receives on the Company’s server the search terms entered by the User (address or postal code strings) in order to match them against postal code data. The Company uses them solely for that matching and discards them as soon as the matching is complete. The Company does not record or store search terms in any form, including in access logs. No files are sent.
- Users represent and warrant that, with respect to any file they upload to or handle with the Service, they have the legitimate right to use the file or have obtained the necessary permission from the rights holder.
- Users shall not upload to the Service, or edit or convert with the Service, any file in which a third party holds rights without the permission of the rights holder.
- Files protected by a password or with restrictions on printing, editing, or copying are deemed to have been intentionally protected by the rights holder, and the Service does not handle them. Users shall not use the Service for the purpose of removing or circumventing such protection.
- The Company shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for any damage or dispute incurred by Users or third parties as a result of a violation of the preceding three items, and the User shall resolve such matters at their own expense and responsibility.
- Users shall be responsible for the content of, rights clearance for, and backup of any data they handle with the Service. The Company shall not be responsible for any loss of or damage to data.
Article 9 (Terms for Individual Tools)
In addition to the preceding Article, the following conditions apply to each of the tools below.
- HANEHanko (digital name stamps) What this tool generates is an image, and it is not a substitute for a registered seal (jitsuin), a registered stamp, or a bank seal whose authenticity is guaranteed through seal registration or other filings. Users shall create and use stamp impressions only in their own name or in a name for which they have obtained permission from the name holder. Creating or using a stamp impression in another person’s name without permission, and any use for the purpose of forging or altering documents or impersonating others, are prohibited.
- HANERec (screen recording and video editing) Users represent and warrant that they have the legitimate right to the subject of any recording or editing, or have obtained the necessary permission from the rights holder. Where there are people who appear or speak in the recording, Users shall obtain their consent. Users shall not record content protected by technological measures such as copy protection. This tool does not perform any processing to identify speakers from recorded audio.
- HANEConv (file conversion) and HANEGazo (image compression) Users represent and warrant that they have the legitimate right to any file to be converted, or have obtained the necessary permission from the rights holder. Any use for the purpose of removing or circumventing technological measures such as copy protection is prohibited.
- HANESukusho (full-page screenshots) Users shall use any web page they capture in accordance with that page’s terms of use and to the extent that doing so does not infringe copyright or other rights. Users shall not publish or redistribute captured images without the permission of the rights holder. This tool converts what is displayed in the User’s browser into an image and does not send page content to the Company’s servers.
- HANEYubin (postal code lookup) Search results are based on postal code data published by Japan Post Co., Ltd. The Company updates this data regularly but does not guarantee its accuracy, currency, or completeness. For important purposes, please also check the officially provided information.
- HANEPass (password generator) Both the generated passwords and the strength shown on screen are based on theoretical calculations and do not guarantee security. Because generated passwords are neither sent to nor stored on the Company’s servers, Users shall record and keep them at their own responsibility.
- HANECode (QR code creation) The Company places no restrictions on the use of the generated images. “QR Code” is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED. When using this term in any display, Users shall provide appropriate trademark notices at their own responsibility.
- HANETime (clock and timer) The time displayed and the operation of alarms and timers depend on your device’s clock and the state of your browser. The Company does not guarantee that notifications will be delivered reliably. Do not rely solely on this tool to manage important schedules.
- HANECut (background removal) and HANEMask (masking) Users represent and warrant that they have the legitimate right to any photo, image, or document they edit, or have obtained the necessary permission from the rights holder. Users shall not infringe the rights of publicity or other rights of any person who appears in an image. Automatic cutouts, face detection, and automatic redaction of text are mechanical processes, and the Company does not guarantee their accuracy or completeness. Users shall check the output themselves before using it. The Company shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for any leakage of information resulting from omissions in redaction or the like. The AI used for this processing runs within the User’s browser, and photos, images, and documents are not sent to the Company’s servers.
- HANEClean (file metadata removal) This tool removes metadata recorded in common formats (date and time taken, location information, author name, etc.). It does not guarantee the removal of every item in every format, and information written as text within the body or within images is not removed. Users shall check the cleaned files themselves before using them.
- HANEPhoto (ID photos), HANERireki (résumé creation), and HANECard (business card creation) The Company does not guarantee that photos, documents, or data created by these tools will meet the standards or requirements set by the recipient, the organization applied to, or the print shop, or that they will pass any review. Users shall check the latest requirements of the recipient or other party themselves. Users shall not create documents containing false information or create documents while impersonating another person.
- HANEVector (vector conversion) The Company does not guarantee that every file can be opened or that its original appearance will be reproduced perfectly. Print-specific settings such as spot colors and overprint may be lost during conversion. Users represent and warrant that they have the legitimate right to any file to be converted, or have obtained the necessary permission from the rights holder.
- HANEPad (character finder) This tool searches for and lists characters similar to a handwritten shape or photo, and does not guarantee that the correct character will be displayed. Users shall verify the official spelling of personal names, place names, and the like against the original at their own responsibility.
- HANEKeisan (calculators) The accuracy and completeness of calculation results and explanations are not guaranteed. The dates of the Vernal Equinox Day and Autumnal Equinox Day holidays include estimates based on calculation. When using results for formal procedures such as tax returns, payroll, or contracts, please check the latest laws and regulations and consult a professional as necessary.
- HANENoshi (noshi and gift envelopes) Explanations of inscriptions (omotegaki), decorative cords (mizuhiki), ink colors, and the like are general guidelines and may differ depending on the customs of a region, religion, denomination, etc. Print position and dimensions vary depending on the printer model and settings. Users shall make a test print before printing on the actual paper. The Company shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for the loss of gift envelopes or other materials due to printing failures.
Article 10 (Third-Party Software)
- The Service includes open-source software, typefaces, and public data published by third parties. The conditions for their use are governed by the licenses specified by their respective providers.
- The names, copyright notices, and licenses of the relevant software and other materials are listed on the License Notices page. Users shall use them in accordance with the terms of those licenses.
- All software and other materials covered by this Article are delivered from the Company’s servers. Information on obtaining the full license texts, and on where to obtain the corresponding source code for software subject to the GPL or LGPL, is provided on the same page.
Article 11 (Disclaimer)
- The Company makes no warranty, express or implied, that the Service is free from defects in fact or in law (including defects relating to safety, accuracy, reliability, usefulness, fitness for a particular purpose, etc.).
- The Company shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for any damage incurred by Users arising from the Service, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the Company.
- The accuracy of the output of the Service is not guaranteed (including conversions, compression, OCR, address label layouts, file comparison differences, postal code search results, unit conversion values, Japanese era conversions and age calculations, generated passwords and their strength indications, QR codes, stamp impression images, recorded video and audio, the results of file metadata removal, background cutouts, blackouts, and automatic redaction, character finder suggestions, consumption tax, time, and day-count calculations, and print data for ID photos, business cards, résumés, career histories, noshi, and the like). For important purposes, please check the content yourself.
Article 12 (Changes to and Termination of the Service)
The Company may change the content of the Service or terminate its provision without prior notice to Users. The Company shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for any damage incurred by Users as a result.
Article 13 (Changes to These Terms)
The Company may change these Terms at any time without notice to Users when it deems necessary. The revised Terms take effect from the time they are posted on the Service. If a User continues to use the Service after a change, the User is deemed to have agreed to the revised Terms.
Article 14 (Handling of Personal Information)
The Company handles personal information obtained through the use of the Service appropriately in accordance with the Service’s Privacy Policy. The information collected, the purposes of use, retention periods, and transmission to external services are described specifically in that policy.
Article 15 (Communications to Users)
- The Company communicates with users by sending email to their registered email address or by posting on the Service.
- Communications necessary to operate the Service, such as identity verification, password resets, changes to these Terms, and suspension or termination of the Service, may be sent by email.
- Newsletters containing promotional content are sent to users who have given their consent by a method specified by the Company. You can stop receiving them at any time.
Article 16 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
- These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
